A lot of words to say:

Until a breakthrough in battery design, the electric car is deader than a dead battery.

The breakthrough need be in recycling. Should be cheaper to extract pure lithium from a boxful of it, than to dig it out of dirt and refine.

I tend to agree with you as I believe the time for an electric vehicle will be when we come up with a battery which can be recharged indefinitely, very quickly and will hold enough of a charge to power such a vehicle for hundreds of miles before requiring to be charged again. I believe this will be the time when people will rush out to buy such a vehicle. In the meantime I don’t see anything wrong with a high efficient gasoline powered vehicle, or perhaps using hydrogen as a fuel source if it could be produced economically and be priced affordably.
