Thanks for posting that. I actually don’t have a problem with the excerpts from the document published in that article. It is not CRT to acknowledge racism and repent for it (like all sins). CRT makes a more specific claim: that the very structures of society were designed to be racist and therefore this is no such thing as merit. Colorblindness (which CRT mocks) and merit are said to be just a smokescreen behind which racist decisions hide. Or put it another way, even if every individual person in an institution could become un-racist, the institution itself would still produce racist results because of the design of its standards.
I have become weary of the whole “race conversation”. People smarter than myself assert that to continually dwell on race makes racism worse. And when a large organization wants to ask people to “talk about racism” and ask forgiveness for past misdeeds we all know who they are talking to. It’s white folk like me. Because everyone knows whites are just born racists.
