Once you resign it weakens your case. Make them fire you and then sue for wrongful termination.
Gruden's beef isn't with the team that employed him. It is with the League itself which does not employ him.
I imagine the NFL referee mafia will make the Raiders pay for this insurrection. They have more power than you think. Look at the recent Steeler/Bears game.
