My father had a stroke, and only died after a 10 month ordeal of paralysis, inability to speak, infection, and wasting away.

If given the choice, I know he would have definitely chosen to exit this world quickly, in the woods, with his rifle, hunting for elk.

My grandfather who had suffered a small stroke and cancer was killed chopping wood for a mountain children’s home and a limb fell on him.

I think he would have chosen something like that for leaving.

The best guess is he didn’t know what hit him.

A few hours after not hearing from him, a few people went out looking. A short search.

I completely agree with you. We all have to die, and I have seen many die just as you describe. No thanks. Personally I would definitely want to go like this man from Seattle. In the woods, hunting with his dog.
