Peoria= microcosm of urban areas (it plays in Peoria)
White flight to suburbs that have seen large growth the past 20 years
the only areas of pure non minority areas are the far north which has seen large growth in recent years and they are only included into the population stats because they were annexed in
the north central and northwest parts of the city that used to be pretty decent are going downhill but at least it is getting more diverse (/s)
property values falling fast
The south side are still slums of course as well as the areas just north of downtown
The areas just of the interstate still decent for now

of course it was a close race and mail in ballots were “found” late for her putting her in the lead
