Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said on Sunday that Steve Bannon’s indictment will encourage others to cooperate with the House select committee's investigation of the Jan.6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
“Without a doubt. And indeed, even before the Justice Department acted, it influenced other witnesses. ... And now that witnesses see that if they don't cooperate, if they don't fulfill their lawful duty when subpoenaed, that they, too, may be prosecuted, it will have a very strong, focusing effect on their decision making,” Schiff told host Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

The point of the indictment is to force him to come on camera and do exactly this.
Does anyone know of a good legal analysis as to whether Bannon has a defense to the indictment?

Investigate his collusion with Steele, false impeachment of Trump, fabrication of evidence, and last but not least; perform a thorough investigation of his campaign finances and contributors by a “slow but methodical and thorough”special prosecutor.

Sometimes I get the feeling this is a war of words - they are trying to destroy President Trump’s political legacy and public image rather than trying to put political leaders in jail.
They did arrest some big shot Trump supporters but I think it backfired on them - since the public knows it’s all political.
They do have Jan 6th protesters rotting in jail. but I think that will backfire too
In 2022 we may find out the American people don’t like Democrat and RINO dirty fighting.
There will always be 33% voters who are dumb as rocks - but there are a also lot of decent people that were straddling the fence but are smart enough to know they are being lied to.

Possibly, but the one thing I find interesting from something I read is, Bannon was already long gone from the administration. So, what privileged info they think he has is going to be interesting.

Bannon’s indictments are just for not appearing in Congress when requested and for not furnishing requested documents.
