Maybe because anyone who ISN'T a hand-wringing hypochondriac doesn't go for "medial treatment" for the sniffles?

True. Although I would say it's propaganda/denial. Also, many had significant immunity (did not become ill when exposed) or partial immunity after having been exposed to similar coronaviruses. Also, those will no immunity went through the illness without needing treatment and simply recovered, with newfound immunity.
