Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko threatened Thursday to cut off a major pipeline transporting Russian gas through Belarus to the European Union if the EU imposes new sanctions, escalating what the EU calls Belarus' "hybrid attack" on the 27-member bloc Earlier this week, thousands of migrants from the Middle East moved through Belarus to the EU's Polish border, and now they are stuck in frigid weather between Polish border guards who won't let them in and Belarusian guards who won't let them return.

"We are heating Europe," Lukashenko said Thursday. "They still threaten us that they will close the border. And if we shut off natural gas there?"....

Oooh. Looks like things could be ‘’heating up’’ in Russia.

Belarus , “White Russia’’ is threatening Moscow. Russia has always been Belarus’s largest political and economic partner.

I wonder how Vlad will handle this?

The Russian oligarchy folks (who own and control natural gas) will have a little meeting...discuss the capital loss, and the days of Lukashenko are numbered.

Added to this...only around one-third of German natural gas comes from Russia. The rest comes from Netherlands, Scotland, and Norway. It wouldn’t take much to bump up the purchase from the alternate sites.

Also, the last time I checked....Turkey is on the verge of hooking up to a major natural gas situation in the Med. It might take a couple of years, but they will eventually enter the market and undercut Russian prices.

you may be right, Lukashenko will trip on icy stairs, or fall out of a 9th floor window not too far off in the future. Russia doesn’t want a regional war right now, it’s in the middle of a covid wave again and already has enough muslims to deal with

>Lukashenko, a close ally of Russia, threatened this week to cut off Russian gas supplies delivered to Europe through Belarusian territory. On Friday, the Kremlin appeared to distance itself from that threat, saying it was not consulted in advance of Lukashenko’s remarks and it would fulfil its gas delivery contracts.

Germany and Russia can accelerate “acceptance” testing of the Nord Stream 2 pipelines and start the gas flowing through those lines. Gas in pipelines can flow two ways. Poland gets their Russian gas from a pipeline that flows through Belarus to Germany. If Belarus cuts off the flow of gas at Poland’s border it would be theoretically possible to “backfill” those pipelines from Germany with some gas that originally came through the Nord Stream pipes. Pretty expensive but it would “break” Belarus.

And all because Belarus wants to blackmail EU into accepting being flooded with illegal aliens, proving they are the democRATs of Europe. The ones here (actual Dims) are trying to lock in the power they stole via the 2020 election fraud and will do whatever it takes. I saw a video of General Flynn regarding the speed in which they are confirming their complete takeover of America, and you can check it out at Whatfinger News in crawler link top of page. Even Hillary and Eric Holder were never charged with contempt of Congress. I’d tell Belarus to keep the illegal aliens, and also their natural gas which they can eat in place of the food I won’t be shipping them.

Belarus wants to flood Europe with illegals. The EU should cut off their food supply, OR...threaten to invade Belarus instead.

Being beholden to Turkey is just as bad. They have ALSO threatened to flood the EU with illegals.

The EU is actually in the right here. Belarus is trying to send a bunch of middle easterners into Europe and the EU is threatening to close the border to stop them. Belarus is acting like Mexico to us, they’re letting through a bunch of illegal aliens and need to be shut down.

On Friday, the Kremlin appeared to distance itself from that threat, saying it was not consulted in advance of Lukashenko’s remarks and it would fulfil its gas delivery contracts.

When Vlad said he would fulfill it's gas delivery contracts, it was a warning from the Russian mafia to Lukashenko that he better STFU or he will be found, face down in the hash browns, with an ice pick in his spine.

Does he realize how insignificant Belaruse is compared to the Russian thieves and mobsters?

A man has to know his limitations.

I wonder if this helps your argument, fresh off the press

MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin hopes that Belarus will not shut off the transit of Russian gas to the EU.

“Theoretically, of course, [President of Belarus Alexander] Lukashenko, as the President of a transit country, can probably give an order to cut off our supplies to Europe. But this would be a violation of our transit contract, and I hope it will not come to that,” the Russian leader said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin, the host of the Moscow. Kremlin. Putin show.

Putin also drew attention to the fact that “they [the EU] always apply and threaten to apply new sanctions” against Lukashenko.

“But this (blocking gas transit - TASS) would cause great damage to the energy sector of Europe, the energy sector of Europe and would not contribute to the development of our relations with Belarus as a transit country,” Putin said.

He said that he was going to discuss with his Belarusian counterpart his words about the possibility of cutting off gas transit to the EU countries.

“To be honest, this is the first time I hear about this, because I have recently talked with Alexander Grigorievich twice, he never told me about it, did not even hint,” Putin admitted.

“But he can [make such statements], probably,” Putin assumed adding that “there is nothing good about it.”

“Of course, I will talk to him on this topic, if only he did not say it in the heat of the moment,” the Russian leader assured.
