Missing from the reporting is what BLM suggests to do instead, to reduce crime in the city. It's not enough to say "cops bad."
If crime grows in NYC, more people will move out.

"We will shut the city down. We will shut down City Hall, and we will give him hell and make it a nightmare." They've already done that in cities all over the US. What am I missing here?

Progressives were furious when Adams said he would reinstate the units during his campaign. Yet, he won.

Let me understand this...”criminals threaten more crime if police try to reduce crime.”
Do I have that right?

Allowing gangs like BLM to tell the government what to do is exactly why countries like Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras are dysfunctional.
The only difference is that the aforementioned three examples do business in drug dealing and human trafficking whereas BLM does business in looting, rioting and extortion.
There is a reason the GEH triangle coyotes and criminals charge US $9,000 to US $12,000 per family to smuggle them out of the hell hole they have created because that is the average value of a household's total assets (including their home) there.

To teach people like Mr. Newsome a lesson he should be immediately arrested and held in solitary unable to communicate for, say, 4-8 months. Then charge him for inciting public violence and rioting. In addition, then place a bond so high no one can afford it. Our so called leaders need to start dealing with these miscreants decisively and harshly and send a clear message that behavior like this will just not be tolerated in a civil society. But we know that will never ever happen.....
To: SeekAndFind
The very fact that Adams met either BLM means he’s gonna cave and it’ll be business as usual in NYC.

Try getting the Dept. of Justice to recognize that. . .Recognize? Merrick Garland's Department of Justice is in partnership with them, much as the governments of GEH are in partnership with the drug dealing human trafficking gangs of their respective countries. They just won't admit it.

Millions like me will never step foot back in NYC. Even during the Bloomberg years the Giuliani revival of the Big Apple was sufficiently maintained that most tourists felt safe, and were able to enjoy the sights, the shows and the restaurants. Never again.
