A new online search engine, you.com, launched its public beta today, aiming to take market share and search-related revenues from the dominant incumbent. Google has 86.64% of the search engine market, a position that generated $146.9 billion in 2020 advertising revenues. “Its kind of crazy that right now there is this one monopolistic monolith that decides what you read, what you consume, what you buy, and what you have no control over it,” says you.com CEO Richard Socher.
Socher and his co-founder Bryan McCann helped build the Einstein artificial intelligence platform at Salesforce. Now they want to free Web search from the advertising and SEO biases of current search technology and give users more control over their interaction with the internet. Their focus is on a new interface design and new user experience, transforming the familiar single vertical list into horizontal collections of relevant sources.

The dirty secret is that Google results utterly suck compared to as recently as 2012. They stopped calling themselves a search engine and started calling themselves a decision engine.
I constantly give up refining my search for something I know exists in frustration, and am actually getting better results from DuckDuckGo it even bing or yandex.
It’s not just that google is corrupt, it’s low quality.
Google and other search giants may try to give You.Com
the Murder Hornet Treatment; try to invade and destroy their format. Isn’t that what happened with Parler?
I know Parler is for dialog, not a search engine, but they ran into digital land mine after land mine about one year ago. I don’t know how it all looked at the end.
Salesforce is even more woke than Google.
How is this an improvement?
Unless they are saying Google isn't work enough.
That's good - I'm glad I haven't been missing anything due to my Google search engine boycott.
"Decision Engine" - Ha-Ha-Ha! That's hilarious. What a bunch of pretentious posers.
I use duckduckgo also.
I have been using Startpage and they admit that they use google, but I accept that and choose my results accordingly.
It is PRIVATE, which is important to me.
There are two ways to judge a search engine...
1. Whether they track your every movement and sell it, and...
2.whether they show you search results mostly from left leaning publications.
They claim they don’t do 1,as for two I haven’t used it enough to know.
I hate to be a spelling Nazi, but you misspelled Spartacus. Hope this helps!
Google search sucks. It’s only value lies in true technical research. Any Google search result that touches politics, culture, healthcare is not to be trusted.
I’ll give this search engine a shot.
I did an image search on you.com for “America inventors” and I got the same propaganda result that would have gotten on Google, no white men there at all. Try it yourself.
so far my verdict on you.com is FAIL.
Google has become pure propaganda.
Do a search on any recent, even tangentially political subject - and you get sent to fake news sources.
FUN FACT: I owned the iseek.com domain for many years, starting in the earliest days of the Internet. I sold it for just enough to get my three sons through their undergrad degrees (when that $$ was much-needed!).
Wow! That’s terrific and congratulations! (even if a bit late ;) )
I just checked duckduckgo - same thing. They probably all use Google results.
The gaslighting is inescapable.
In every type of ad, TV, movies blacks are everywhere - they are the smart ones, clean cut, and successful.
Whites especially white males (if you even see one) , are the new slow witted Stepin Fetchits.
The propaganda to make you believe this demented, offensive dekusion is more intense and pervasive than anything Goebbels could have dreamed up.
And the really enraging thing is that most of it is generated and paid for by self loathing WHITES. They are the number one enemy of the white race.
I hope so.
Their bloody stupid algorithm changes and even more destructive “pay to play ads” crap ruined my former talent of using keywords and metatags to keep us on top of search results.
Indeed. Their “autocomplete” search suggestions are supposedly based on popular searches by other users. But if you type in ‘Joe Biden dementia,’ does auto-complete happen? Do you get search suggestions for that? Oh, hell, no. Because no one ever runs that search? Uh-huh, yeah, right. Their mission is to run interference for the leftist establishment.
USE Duckduckgo.com for searches
Einstein search in salesforce is no great shakes. It’s got basic data science stuff but nothing that is too exotic these days.
