If so, it's a losing argument.
That was what I thought. (Baldwin likely had a soft-point lead bullet rather than a hollow-point, but it's thae same idea.)
And the judge blew that theory up in the ADA's face.
Of course we don't know for sure yet, but for a .45 Long Colt, I'd wager it was a cast lead bullet with no copper jacket, the most common loading for the .45 Long Colt.
Hard cast lead will not deform very much if at all when striking soft tissue, and is often used when deep penetration is desired.
