The Biden administration in just the past year alone stockpiled the records of more than 54 million U.S. gun owners and is poised to drastically alter gun regulations to ensure that information on Americans who own firearms ultimately ends up in the federal government's hands, according to internal Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
The ATF in fiscal year 2021 processed 54.7 million out-of-business records, according to an internal ATF document obtained by the Gun Owners of America, a firearms advocacy group, and provided exclusively to the Free Beacon. When a licensed gun store goes out of business, its private records detailing gun transactions become ATF property and are stored at a federal site in West Virginia. This practice allows the federal government to stockpile scores of gun records and has drawn outrage from gun advocacy groups that say the government is using this information to create a national database of gun owners—which has long been prohibited under U.S. law.
The ATF obtained 53.8 million paper records and another 887,000 electronic records, according to the internal document that outlines ATF actions in fiscal year 2021. Gun activists described this figure as unusually high and said it contributes to fears that the Biden administration is trying to keep track of all Americans who own firearms, in violation of federal statutes. The procurement of these records by the ATF comes as the Biden administration moves to alter current laws to ensure that gun records are stored in perpetuity. Currently, gun shops can destroy their records every 20 years, thereby preventing the ATF from accessing the information in the future.

Remember Joe the Plumber who so embarrassed Obama? The way this might work now is, if someone like Joe embarrassed a high level Democrat, they’d use the gun records looking for something Joe might have done. Let’s suppose Joe passed through a state that disallowed any carriage of firearms in their state? A service station gas receipt would be produced showing when he was in the state. He’d be brought in and asked if he always carried his gun. When he said yes, he’d be brought up on a violation of state regulations, which, he had just admitted to. Then, they’d swoop in and take all of his guns. It might be against the law to do so, but the issue is, almost no one can fight a government. The legal system takes $10,000 down and $500 an hour to operate. While individual cases might generate a lot of gift money to fight, there would be hundreds of cases and not enough publicity to go around.
Like license plates, “big data” can record everything.
If by now a person hasn’t stashed weapons or ammo without documentation, they have been ignorant of the political situation. Clinton began this crap and I began then to make sure I wasn’t on the ATF radar. Just like buying insurance, one never knows when the crap will hit the fan.

the next public health crisis: guns

Second even at 50 million records, there well over 350 million civilian owned firearms in the USA. So the ability to confiscate firearms will at most be 1/7-th of those out there. That would certainly get the attention and ire of the owners of the other 6/7-th. That would note bode well for the federal agents.
Third, as a member of a major firearms collectors association, I can say that there are a very large number of firearms that have never been associated with any ATF Form 4473 and that most will still be functional in a 100 years from now after being passed down through families.
These non-Form 4473 “firearms” can range from those 80% lower kits and parts that are legally not a firearm and passed down from one generation to another. You are allowed to buy a kit and give it to a family member as they are not firearms (at least for the moment). If you or the family member builds the kit into a firearm, then it is only for their use and may not be sold or transferred, unless certain state/federal rules are complied with. Still, that kit can be legally passed down for dozens of generations until is is put together as a firearm.
Maybe those concerned should put on their Christmas gift list an 80% lower, a lower parts kit, a complete AR upper, and a few large capacity magazines.
THIS !!!
The goal is confiscation.
What guns and ammo? 😏🙌
It’s almost comical today when someone says “the government can’t do that, it’s illegal”. This present regime does whatever it wants, since their are no more checks and balances, except for a relatively small group of Republicans.
Yup. System ? What system ?
I don’t think Baldwin even knows what that means.
Wish I still had all those guns I bought before 1968!

Biden is a lousy sneak. He lied when campaigning that he was not after people’s guns. He is gathering information on gun purchases going back 20 years and farther, and archiving them, for what purpose? The answer is obvious. What a slob he is. The man lies outright. He always intended to do exact this. Instead of concerning himself with the Communist Chinese invading Taiwan airspace and trying their defenses, he is doing this. He is not an honorable leader. He is a weasel!
Notice that the records include ONLY LEGAL gun owners. Violent criminals are excluded because they will be allowed to keep their guns when our guns are taken away (or they attempt to do so).
‘Anyone surprised by this has not been paying attention.’
Exactly! Back in the Clinton years the atf would come multiple times/yr to bigger ffls and copy 4473s listing certain politically incorrect firearms. I’m sure it’s been going on longer than that.
