Seattle within the Soviet of Washington imposed such a tax a number of years ago. They succeeded in driving every gun shop in the City to outside the city as well as ammunition sales.
The gun shops for the most part did not go away, they just moved. But then again, modern Democratic Party politics is not about substance, it is about the illusion of politicians appearing to do something.

Illinois Circus Elephant Governor JB Priztker and AG Kwame Raoul have said many times that they will not follow any court orders.
Several Illinois County Courts have ruled against Putzker on the Mask Mandate, Business Lockdowns, etc. The Governor ignores all of the rulings and nothing happens to him.
The Department of Justice is concerning itself with Biden’s daughter’s diary which she lost somewhere and not with people like this blantantly defying court orders. If Donald Trunp were President, the DOJ would be persueing this and not that.
Rule of law? What’s that? Some sort of White Folks BS?
