After learning George Zimmerman was scheduled to speak at The Riverside Hotel this weekend as part of a multiday conference, the hotel canceled the event.
Zimmerman was listed as featured speaker at the “Lethal Force Gun Laws 2021 Tactics & Strategies Conference.” It was scheduled to take place Friday through Monday.
In 2012, Zimmerman fatally shot Trayvon Martin, an unarmed Black teenager, and was later found not guilty of second-degree murder and manslaughter after claiming self-defense. The shooting in Florida sparked a national conversation on racial profiling and so-called Stand Your Ground laws.
“We recognize the immense pain that George Zimmerman has inflicted on many of our guests, team-members and community,” the Garden City hotel’s ownership group said in a statement. “With their respect and safety as our priority, we have canceled the event. We are unequivocally opposed to providing George Zimmerman a platform and he is not welcome at The Riverside Hotel.”

It is insane a hotel would cancel an event where a victim of a violent attack describes how he survived.
He was found “NOT GUILTY”. Does that not make him not guilty?!
That only applies to certain people. OJ, for instance. Politicians, for another.
I assume they’re fearful of BLM and the media. In the climate we’re in, this hotel could be burned to the ground and it would be framed as people expressing themselves.

It’s their right. Business should not be a part of any controversy. The problem is the woke ones. It’s not as cowardly as the woke ones.

Martin had got away, but chose to turn around and confront the “creepy ass cracker” who disrespected him.
That shows his intent and supports Zimmerman’s claim to be attacked.
Martin died because he chose to initiate a second encounter. He could have gone home and we’d have never heard about him … or Zimmerman.
I noticed the article was on the BUSINESS section. If enough organizations boycott and people this place the correct title would be GOING OUT OF BUSINESS.
It would appear that some of the refugees that fled California got jobs in the hospitality sector in Idaho.

I wouldn’t think Zimmerman would be a negative in Idaho but what do I know?
A jury found Zimmerman acted in self-defense and found him not guilty.
He has no “debt to society” nor does he have to apologize to this hotel or any snowflakes with hurt feelings for his lawful conduct.
The hotel should be boycotted into bankruptcy.
Looks like a fancy Best Western.

They always say this crap. This “unarmed teenager” was trying to kill Zimmerman by bashing his head in and lucky for Zimmerman he was able to defend his life.
