Have y'all seen this? I hope this isn't true or in the bill passed yesterday...

$6500 Methane Fee On Every Dairy Cow And $4500 Beef Cow So Farmers Get Rid Of Their Cows

This will destroy small cattle farms, and we have a lot of them in Southern Alabama. Also, $2,500 on each hog.

I think it can't be true, but who knows with the loony Left...

According to Snopes, untrue. Does 2021 Infrastructure Bill Include ‘Methane Tax’ on Cattle, Pigs?

The methane taxes are in the reconciliation bill. So far they apply to oil and gas companies and are huge taxes they will have to pass along ($1500 / ton of methane).

In contrast the "bipartisan" porkulus passed Friday night has many multi-billion-dollar giveaways including many to the "bipartisan" senators who voted for it. Billions upon billions for every "low carbon" or "hydrogen" project you can imagine. 99% of them are boondoggles. I am not against research into better energy, but not "pilot" projects that spend billions and produce nothing.

So yeah, there will be methane taxes in the new Dem-only bill, now given new life by the traitorous Republicans who passed the porkulus.

I’m rather confident the methane legislation was or still is part of the larger BBB. Manchin wouldn’t allow something so ridiculous to remain. I’ll bet my house he had it pulled to get the 3.5T down to 1.5T.

I don’t see he or Sinema going any further than the infrastructure bill.
