Funding proposals for implicit bias and antiracism training in schools are coming into focus and some see it as an unnecessary controversy that distracts from education in Illinois’ 850 districts.
A draft proposal from the Illinois State Board of Education Professional Review Panel set to be considered next month contemplates how to spend an additional $350 million from the evidence based funding model that lawmakers approved several years ago.
There are recommendations for a variety of programs, including teaching foreign languages.
There are also suggestions for “interventions to have more explicit focus on racial dynamic, including equity direct approaches that offer concrete strategies for teachers’ behavioral changes in the classroom and increased bias awareness.”

So, critical race theory without calling it crt.
Illinois is, let me think, no wait, yup, it’s one of those blue DemocRAT states. So, it’s doomed to fail anyway. More expense for us to build a wall around to keep it’s occupants inside where they can do damage only to themselves.
In Texas, they can’t do CRT at the state level. So it’s done by the school boards (ideally), but where the boards are taken over by conservatives, it then defaults to the schools themselves, and they are ALL run by Leftists. So, at least in Texas, we have CRT throughout, even with some claiming that it’s not permitted.
But what the heck, public schools are ‘free’, so who cares what happens in them. Right?
CRT in Illinois is called Culturally Responsive Teaching. Same thing with a different name.
I moved from IL 30+ years ago and have not regretted it a bit. Have a nephew who just moved from IL to TN. He chided me for not telling him to get out long ago. Some things you just have to find out yourself.
Critical Legal Theory … Marxist lawfare
Critical Race Theory … Marxist racism
The Leftist cancer is consuming this Republic.
I had to take implicit bias training. I found out that I have a bias against people who play Dungeons and Dragons and the women in the office who spend too much time and money at TJ Maxx (I already knew about these). I also might have a bias toward Hispanic groups based on the pictures in my office. Of course someone who might think that could, I don’t know, ask me about the significance of the pictures.
So they’re going to tell themselves children what the kids are thinking but they don’t know it. Somehow the bullies in the staff know what the children are thinking.
😈
Implicit bias. Which means they have a special detector device that sees stuff that doesn’t exist.
A lot of us conservatives here in ILLINOIS, and we are ticked off and have been for YEARS about what the liberals have done and are doing to this state. They have control of Chicago and Springfield. For a lot of us our only alternative is to move out, but even that is hard to do, especially if we are retired and on a fixed income. If things keep going the way they have been, it’s only gonna get worse. As long as the democrats own the big cities and the state houses in this country, nothing will change. There are a lot of good people in this state, perhaps someday more people will wake up and try to seriously change things.
Unfortunately, I don’t see it happening anytime soon. I don’t know where you live, I can only assume it’s a much nicer place than Illinois is right now, so I envy you.
The corruption in this state is like a cancer that has spread and no amount of chemo or radiation is going to help.
We are not all raging libs in this state. Try to understand that, please.
I promise you, we’re not all voting for this sh!t. Most of the state is red outside of Chicago and Springfield, but those two areas and a couple of others overtake the rest of the state.
I would leave if I could afford to, but I can’t seem to save up enough, for obvious reasons.
