A few years ago I attended a few days of the Federal trial of a mobster called "Cadillac Frank" Salemme.One of the witnesses for the prosecutor (Fred Wyshak, featured in the great film "Black Mass") was a mobster called Stevie "The Rifleman" Flemmi,an associate of Whitey Bulger.

The first subject Wyshak addressed with him was his criminal past.He detailed all the murders he committed,among other things.

The first thing the defense asked Flemmi was "Mr Flemmi,would you say that you've killed *fewer* than fifty people,or *more* than fifty people?" His response was "about fifty people".
