Horrible. So sorry.
All the boys were sober. It was just absolute stupidity and that feeling of youthful invincibility in this case.
Some of the boys still have PTSD and injuries to this day.
Still friends, tho. I tried to mediate that a few months after the wreck. It was healing for them. Made them get together over lunch to discuss their experiences. And what I witnessed on arriving to the scene.
I wouldn’t wish that on ANY momma. It is burned in my memory.
I think of all the crazy, stupid stuff I did when I was young and when you add alcohol to the equation, the trouble just gets compounded.
Talking about what they went through has to help to keep the accident from taking over their lives.
