It’s an OLD worn out city .....so many other cities domestically and worldwide far better to visit and live in.
NYC is not old at all. I was all over Spain this year. Every city I was in was older than NY (arguable about Bilbao, in terms of being a city as such, but still). All of them “worked” as far as low crime, effective public services and cleanliness, and just plain fun and charm.
