Don’t bother the slave labor groupies here.

For profit detention is disgusting. If it becomes too expensive, it will end.

What should happen is the “immigrants” get a high speed hearing in front of an honest immigration judge and they get a choice: sign the waiver and be deported or get charged under 8 USC 1325 and go through the process as ordinary defendants in a federal case. Guilty? They do the time/fine and then they get deported.

They should have used the “company store” approach.

Pay minimum wage but charge for anything and everything that is not mandatory to provide: snacks, toiletries, entertainment, etc.

Make sure working is a privilege that is earned and not required. Make life much more comfortable for those who work.

Prisons should not be a burden to taxpayers. In a sane world, prisoners would ordinarily earn their keep.

You sadly have that correct. To want to spy on the accounts of average Americans who have been honest, paid taxes, and contributed to the betterment of their community is appalling. Right now I despise my government.

Unlike normal inmates, they are free to leave at any time.
