my oldest lived with her boyfriend for years and he’s now her husband.
Youngest did not live with her husband until they were married, and they are now divorced.
So this is just wailing about people living in sin. They may have sex! Worse they may enjoy it. The horror.
Again MYOB and take care of your own families and leave other people alone.
Not hard to do but the HR always have to stick their nose where it does not belong, because Jesus.

Let those who would opine about avoiding marriage change the laws that force individuals into a screw-deal contract with the government. For decades now, the government has intruded into personal lives such that no two people get married anymore. They enter into a three-party agreement with a government and like gambling, the house ALWAYS wins.

The government chose to side with the wife (who will easily agree) to screw over the husband. Such one-sided situations would run into problems one generation later; the sons of anyone caught in that situation would be a fool to ever repeat it.

This will only worsen until the government is reined in and such illicit intrusion is removed.

“Child support goes away when a child turns 18.
I think it goes to 21 if the “kid” is in school. “

Depends on the state I think.graduation from HS or 18 whichever comes first here. As soon as carpool stopped I was able to get to work. Now I have enough start paying o down college loans. The kids are on their own for post grad. They imagine dad has a wife, a beach house, a boat.

Most of the time they don’t think about caring but they do. He doesn’t and they know it. .

On the list of things we need to do to save the republic, this one doesn’t even ping the radar right now.

As a society, marriage just isn’t very important anymore. So, it’s not surprising that sex is not expected to occur in a marriage. This leads to many problems. Unwanted pregnancies is just one. It also allows the playboys to roam and bounce around more. The end result of all of this is that the U.S. is now opening its borders to immigrants because it wants faster population growth. It’s all quite strange.

You think there are no studies on this?

Statistically couples who live together before marriage have a much higher rate of divorce

The 50% statistic takes in all marriages, including the multiple marriages of those who get married and divorced several times. That’s why it appears so high to normal people.

It doesn’t mean 50% of all people who get married will get divorced.

It’s tge most important one. The destruction of tge family is where the destruction of the republic started. Early 70s

The purpose of marriage, first and foremost, is to secure the rights and ownership of property.

Secondly, the purpose of marriage is to secure the property rights of children that are the natural and until recently, the unavoidable issue

To tie it all up in a neat mandatory package, the Church or Synagogue or Mosque or whatever was drug in to sanctify the process.

Liberalism, Progressivism, is all about eliminating religion as the rationale for property administered via marriage

Not gory at all. The book mostly describes how friends of the victim along with a private investigator (that the friends mostly found rather uncouth) persisted in uncovering the truth. The Newtown police were more than happy to sweep this under the rug because the husband was a volunteer for the police department and had a lot of friends on the force.

The book also goes into details on the upbringing of the couple and the family backgrounds. But very little ink is spilled on the crime itself because there were no witnesses and all the evidence was circumstantial aside from a few bone and tooth fragments found in the river.

While the book portrays the victim (Helle Crafts) as some sort of saint, I unfortunately do not subscribe to that notion. Not at all implying she deserved what happened to her by any stretch but she stayed in a very bad marriage for way too many years out of a hope that he would change and more importantly, that his income (as an airline pilot) would provide security for her and their children - even though he shared very little of it. So bottom line, I'm thinking she married the man for his money.

As a postscript, the man (Richard Crafts) was recently released from prison after serving barely 35 years. I find that incomprehensible, considering the brutality and the pre-meditation of the murder. It was almost the perfect murder. He was very close to getting away with the whole thing.

It takes two to make a marriage work. Conversely, it only takes one to file for divorce. Feminism has done women absolutely no favors in making relationships work. Rather, it has confused and isolated them.

I thought this was going to be another article about splitting up the country.

You can think feminism is he cause of a ridiculously high divorce rate and you can say it but it’s not the full truth by far so you lose your audience.

I tend to work on things that are fixable. This one is not. There is plenty of immediacy right now in this country that we better get on top of. If you believe that people (especially males with females) living together and somehow rectifying that reality is what will save this country in the long term then we are going to be steamrolled by the Marxist in short order.

As a long term goal, possibly. We won’t survive to pursue any long term goal unless we gather up and focus on the direct threats immediately. As a poster above mentioned. The entire system in this country is built on punishing men entering into marriage. The dis-incentive is pronounced.

We won’t be able to focus on the big picture societal issues if their is no free society to focus those issues on. People better start looking at things that are possible and probable now instead of diverting their attention to righting some of these perceived “wrongs”. Hell we don’t have a functioning judiciary now. People living together doesn’t even ping the radar on what’s about to mow us down.

Americans want a problem that’s fixable. They quit when it’s too hard

That’s where we are.

Depends on the state. In Alabama it’s 19 and you still have to go to court. It doesn’t automatically stop.

There is NO reason that Government should be an enabler in this activity!

Agreed, but an oft used Elsie quote did occur to me, “Really”?

Reminds me of SCOTUS activity concerning penumbras leading to the Federal legalization of Abortion.

The Court failed to examine the many bad choices a female has to make leading up to Pregnancy followed by the same faulty thought process leading up to the final solution for the child she is carrying.

shazam, stroke of the pen.

So many choices, so little responsibility for them. Brought to you by the Government so concerned for our well being, that they feel the need to be our God. The judges in agreement turned the Constitution on it’s head by declaring the killing of a baby in the womb a constitutional right. In direct opposition to Natural or God given rights.
