I didn’t see anything about Rittenhouse shooting in self defense. Is it in the article? I’m not going to click it.
The neglect of that crucial point is appalling.
The article says “In many ways, the key question at trial is simple: Was Rittenhouse acting in self-defense? Plentiful video exists of the events in question, and legal experts see a strong case for that”, with a link to another AP article, which says the same thing.
That second article briefly describes some of the recorded video of that night. I think it should have mentioned that Kyle pointed his rifle at a 4th pursuer who stopped and took a step back, at which point Rittenhouse lowered his weapon.
I thought that the main problems with the first article were (1) that Rittenhouse making an OK sign was described as him making a Proud Boys hand gesture, and (2) that it was skeptical of claims of anti-Rittenhouse-big tech bias, neglecting to mention that Paypal, Facebook and others actively interfered with fundraising for Rittenhouse’s defense.
