The Health Commission of Guangdong Province, South China, ad this Thursday the existence of a new case of infection of the H5N6 strain of bird flu in humans.
The new case occurred in the city of Dongguan, in a context in which the increase in people infected with bird flu in China during 2021 is generating concern among experts, who explain that the current situation is probably given by the mutation of a strain that has become much more infectious to humans than its predecessors.
During the current year, China has reported 21 cases of human infections with the H5N6 subtype of avian influenza to the World Health Organization (WHO), which is a notable increase compared to only 5 infections in the year previous.
“The increase in human cases in China this year is worrying. It is a virus that causes high mortality,” said Thijs Kuiken, professor of comparative pathology at the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, who noted that it is urgently needed. , further research in this regard that allows us to understand the current increase in infections in people, as well as the potential risks that this implies.

My opinion: I have had Covid, and it was bad but I have a compromised immune system. Since having Covid, I catch everything. I think Covid wipes out your immune system, I also believe that the same thing that wipes out your immune system with Covid, wipes out the immune system for people who get the Covid Gene Therapy shot.(Vaccine).
I expect that alot of people are going to get really sick this winter from simple flu's and colds, but the news reports are going to blame the unvaccinated and those not wearing mask (which a piece of cloth over the face does nothing but make a person more prone to respiratory infections than protect them or others from anything).
Interesting. Novartis came out with a bird flu vaccine back in 2009. Many people received it during the height of that scare that thankfully did not become a pandemic. Some have wondered if those who received that vaccine have cross resistance and some immunity to COVID-19. However this is another thing to watch carefully and unfortunately information coming out of China is not reliable.

Avian flu has been the “next big thing” since 1997, so far no biggie (unless you are a bird).
The coronavirus people were always the outbreak disaster porn losers, until their horse finally came in in 2019.
But Influenza A has a lot of potential, still. One day evolution will spin out a hemaglutinin other than H1, H2, or H3 that has human pandemic potential, but to say it’s “certain” is fine if you are talking about 10,000 years - but not if you are talking about next year.

Yeah, H5 Nx viruses are really bad *IF* one shows up with a human to human vector. Absent that, don’t work with sick chickens.
IF a human to human H5N1 goes live, THEN react like it’s a bad pandemic, for real. H5N1 flu kills the host quickly though, so arguably not as hard to contain the spread.
Its not H2H transmission. So if you don’t handle chickens....
LOL. Agreed. I handle hundreds of migratory birds every year, alive and dead for twelve years. No highly pathogenic avian influenza symptoms observed.
People would better advised to eat right and exercise. We're a ways away from HPAI posing a serious threat to humans.
