There are some folks out there who don't believe that Critical Race Theory exists. (This despite the fact that many organizations have unapologetically come forward admitting that it does.) Others believe it's just "teaching our history." (This despite the fact that we've been "teaching our history," more or less, warts and all, at least since I was in first grade, 36 years ago.) But I get it. It's a subjective term and hard to define. So let's get rid of the hard to define terms and go with some hard, factual examples.
This particular example doesn't come from the education sphere, but it does show how race (which, as a reminder, is a made-up construct — we all belong to only one race: the human race) has been "weaponized." And when everything is racist, nothing is racist.
It involves two "minorities" (again, I don't even know what that particular term really means, but it's what the left would like us to focus on, so I'll play the left's game for the purposes of this example and point it out), Lorena Gonzales, a Hispanic woman, and Bruce Harrell, a half-black, half-Japanese man.
The two are running for mayor of Seattle. Harrell said something a number of years ago when the gay white mayor at the time was accused by numerous men of child sexual molestation. (I don't care how much pigment is in your skin or whom you're attracted to, but since this is all about identity politics and that man was elected largely because he was the "gay candidate," I figure I'll include it in the narrative.)

Discrimination is a matter of degree. We descriminate to survive.
If I eat at a restaurant and get sick, I don’t go there, anymore. That is descrimination.
If I see a gang of rowdy-looking hoods on the street ahead of me, I may cross the street to get away from them. Walking in to them is stupid.
It is a part of our survival skills and not just us. It is visible (and invisible) across the spectrum in flora and fauna.
We have laws to limit our DEGREE of discrimination and these laws vary, state to state and country to country.
If I want to decriminate on the basis of race or color (or tats or anything else), that is my right, as long as it is within the law.
To me, it seems the liberals are creating ‘laws’ against personal choices without going through the proper channels we would expect to pass a real law. Pushing their ‘wish list’ on the rest of us.
It is time to push back.
By definition, I’d suppose.
If true Nathan Bedford's first maxim of American politics is also racist:
Or does it prove it?
Events of the last year-and-a-half have thoroughly proven your maxim over and over again.
Two years ago I altered lyrics to the Feron Young hit of the 1950s and sand “You call everybody racist” with some simple guitar chords. Had no idea the situation could even be so much worse by now.
I always thought….. if everything is racist- nothing is racist
CRT is really an attempt to explain why minorities as a group, principally blacks, do not excel economically in the society of American opportunity. Economic failure results in a host of other societal ills, such as criminal activity. CRT believes that all racial groups are equally capable on an even playing field and should perform equally to whites. They equate an uneven playing field to “white privilege”.
Upon examining the premise of equality of capability and the societal construct of the playing field, there are two possible conclusions, either the premise of equality of capability is false, or indeed the economic playing field is biased in favor of whites.
The elephant in the room says that much has been studied regarding the lesser innate intelligence of American blacks. The “Bell Curve” and other studied around the world have come to this conclusion. It does not mean the black Americans are less human or less valuable in the eyes of God. So I pose that the premise of equality of capability is false. Why should this not be possible? White men can’t jump.
The minority standing on the sideline only see the outcome of the creativity, dedication and hard work of those that choose to compete. He assumes that all those people have succeeded with capabilities similar to his. This is an error. But his conclusion is that the playing field must be tipped in favor of the whites. What to do?
The best revenge for minorities against White Privilege is to compete and succeed. If you believe that the "playing field" is not level then you have two choices, compete anyway and work even harder to succeed, or go find another playing field.
The other playing field would be to succeed within your own minority community. Black owned businesses in Black neighborhoods, buying from Black distributors and producers.
Minorities will never find a solution in expecting whites to tip the playing field in their direction. The two groups have a completely different view of the field of competition. I think that whites go about their lives competing on the field of life and don't even see the blacks on the sidelines. Blacks stand on the sidelines and have no idea how to get on the field. For some reason they think they need to ask permission of the whites to play?
Just step on the field and compete! Or don't. It’s up to you. But don't blame it on whites if you can't.
Someone better with lyrics than I should adapt “Everything is Awesome” (from the Lego Movie) to “Everything is Racist”.
CRT in a nutshell:
1. The system is corrupt and racist.
2. White people created the system.
3. All White people are corrupt and racist.
