A couple of generations ago, we were the norm. Now, we're a freak show and the freak shows are the norm.

Nevertheless, we have something they haven't got like a loving relationship, useful children and lovable grandchildren, just for starters.

Years ago I read RJ Ringer’s book, “How to find happiness during the collapse of Western Civilization”.

He said (paraphrased) The whole world is turned upside down but you can choose to live right side up. But it requires great effort.
