Once again, we are told the Church is meant to somehow make you feel good in your sin and love of the world

When the church is focused on being “not of this world”, it is attractive to people looking for answers. When the church compromises with the world and bends over backwards to be part of it, it has nothing valid to say anymore. It then has nothing to offer but empty religion and ritual.

An entire generation has been taught that absolutely everything is politics and “causes”. Anything that doesn’t fit into that category is not worth their time. Jesus had very few things to say about politics, a lot to say about worldly religious leaders, and much more to say about who God really is.

In order to get people back to the churches, the churches need to get back to what Jesus said should be their first love, the old paths, the reasons we should be God-seekers in the first place. They have a long way to go to get right again. Until then, our youth and millions more are lost sheep without a shepherd.

exactly- the church we were in was a hell-fire and damnation church- it didn’t water down the gospels to make it palatable to people living in sin-

Which fits with their defn. Of Christian.

And why I cringe at ‘Chistian’.
