—”Could I ask on question of much better informed people here?”
Doubting if I’m better informed, but I took the bait.
Most EVs include an adaptor for charging at what is called “Level 1”, 120 VAC typical wall receptacle.
BUT IT IS SLOW! Charge all night and maybe enough for 50 miles.
Level 2 charger would plug into the same receptacle as an electric stover or dryer. Charge all night and perhaps 500 plus miles.
Level 3 is the commercial Tesla chargers and possibly 20 miles in one minute of charging.
Many variables, current available(amps), is the battery near full or empty, the temperature of the battery...
Wow. Thanks for that treasure trove of details I had never heard before.
So big battery recharge partially depends upon 5 below zero here in Michigan in the winter and 105 degrees in several places during the summer this year.
And I would guess that Tesla deluxe charger is pricey. Just a hunch.
Gomer Pyle: “Golly, sir. I can’t really help you all the way out here with a gallon of gas or a jump. All I can do now is tow your car back to Wally’s Filling Station and you can plug in for a few hours. You’re welcome to stay in Mayberry overnight. If it’s a tougher mechanical or electrical thing the nearest Tesla dealer is up in Mount Pilot.”
