This section on Google machinations and on Covid regulations is just part of a fascinating article that talks about how people are being conditioned to comply with stupid governmental regulations. It talks about Cass Sunstein's efforts to "nudge" people into making different choices without even being aware that they are being manipulated. In this specific section, he talks of how controlling what information people receive is one of the best ways to changes people's perceptions. Of course, Google is doing that by putting news stories only from liberal "reputable" sources (eg. NYT, WaPo) on the first few pages of their results queries.
