Now that I am seven episodes in, I feel confident saying that “Impeachment: American Crime Story,” airing Tuesday evenings on FX, is the fairest and arguably the best real-life political drama Hollywood has ever produced. What mystifies me is that no one on the Right appears to be talking about it.
The third in the “American Crime Story” series, this 10-part drama faithfully tracks the perjury and obstruction of justice scandal that very nearly ended the Bill Clinton presidency. While the first two in the series -- “The People vs. O.J. Simpson” and “Versace” -- dealt candidly with the issues of race and homosexuality, “Impeachment” takes candor a step further and deconstructs the Left’s revisionist history of Bill Clinton’s “sex” scandal.
The Bill Clinton character, served up with equal parts charm and menace by British actor Clive Owen, is something of a monster. When Paula Jones, played with minimal condescension by Annaleigh Ashford, testifies that Clinton exposed himself we believe her, not him. Her vivid description of Clinton’s royal member will not please the ex-president.
It is only in the seventh episode that the Hillary Clinton character, played -- unconvincingly, alas -- by Edie Falco of “Sopranos” fame emerges from the shadows. Although it is too early to tell, my guess is that Hillary will not like the portrait of herself as cold and controlling. That said, I expect the producers to pull their punches when it comes to revealing Hillary’s role in quelling the “bimbo eruptions” that threatened Clinton’s political career from the get-go.
Those “bimbos” -- the Clinton term, not mine -- include not just Paula Jones, but sexual assault victims such as Elizabeth Ward Gracen and Juanita Broaddrick, the latter of whom Clinton raped.

If you are on the right you must be a dissident and that means ignoring (not embracing) Hollyweird. Even when they occasionally do the right thing. If mass media (and I’m including Faux News) actually lost even 35%-40% of their audience they would feel the pain and clearly that hasn’t happened yet almost a year after a stolen election.
We have been watching it. It is fairer that I would have guessed, but it is obviously from the point of view of Lewinsky. And my give-a-damn meter ran out on her a very long time ago. Still, FX was actually brave to put it together. I guess they are bigger than the destruction the Clintons can manage right now.
The only reason Clinton was impeached for lying was because no Congress critter wanted to look at the mountain of evidence that Clinton sold Military secrets to the Chinese for personal gain (campaign cash).
So why watch something that omits the actual crimes? And if here what about the other episodes - what’s missing in them?
Waste of time and mind numbing mush
Monica is listed as one of the producers of this series. It seems to be a fairly honest portrayal of Clinton and paints Lewinsky as a very immature, “victim” of Clinton and his penchant to using women for his sexual gratification. Any why wouldn’t he have such tendencies...after all he saw himself as another horn-dog, JFK.
Because we’re tired of watching corrupt libtards like the Clinton’s get away with murder and already know how the story ends again 🤪
A dirty little fact about ALL impeachments, save the last:
the House has the sole duty of determining whether the actions of a pres/judge reach the level of “high crimes & misdemeanors.” That’s it. In 1866, 1998 and 2017 the House said those actions did.
Andrew Johnson absolutely violated the law-—on purpose, blatantly. Bill Clinton absolutely committed perjury. Trump did not do any of the things he was accused of—but this is somewhat irrelevant to the story.
The Senate’s job is to ONLY render a verdict on the charges-—did he or didn’t he? Yet in all three cases, the Senate assumed the powers of the House to revisit whether the charges themselves reached the level of “high crimes.” Trump rightly was acquitted, but both AJ & BC should have been convicted.
We’ve been watching it. It drags too much and can’t believe Lewinsky allowed a much chunkier character. She truly hates Tripp, and who can blame her. The Tripp character is over the top full of herself. The Bill character is flat and has zero charisma. Overall, it’s ok but more of we started it and gonna finish it feel.
On the other hand, the Linda Tripp character is a cartoon - and since she's dead, she can't object and their Hillary is far more attractive than the real version.
