A security fence costing American taxpayers nearly half a million dollars is being built around the border of President Joe Biden’s beach house in Delaware, a federal database on government spending shows. Biden has been a staunch opponent of fencing along the US-Mexico border.
According to USASPENDING.gov, the Department of Homeland Security awarded on September 21 a $456,548 contract to Rehoboth’s Turnstone Builders for “purchase and installation of security fencing at 32 Farview, Rehoboth Delaware.” Biden bought the home in June 2017 for $2.7 million, tax records show.
Biden’s beach house barrier is currently “in progress” and is slated to be finished by December 31.
