He did not allow the US to use armored vehicles in Somalia, resulting in the Mogadushu disaster with the whole muslim world watching as the dead bodies of US soldiers were dragged through the streets.

I agree with your first statement but the second the Somalia debacle was caused by a civilian Clinton assistant DOD secretary appointee. (As I remember his appointment shocked many “normal” Rats [They don’t exist now!]!) His name escapes me now but he was a long time hard core anti-defense leftist. Wrote many articles criticizing about every defense policy & acquisition from the 1970s through 1980s. He blocked the armor and forced a “joint forces “ rescue action involving Pakistani & Malaysian military forces (Malaysian unit had light armor!). Well you know the rest of the story.
