So God killed an innocent woman to be a dick to Alec Baldwin?

Why would anyone even still be using blanks or ‘wads’ or whatever? With today’s special effects just point and the animation folks can do the rest down to sounds, yes? Baldwin is a co-producer/actor so not like there’s a lack of access to editing talent

Really good point. Just say bang, or pow, or pew pew in Alec's case.

Why was Alec Baldwin pointing a “prop gun” at a cinematographer?

Every gun enthusiast I know treats every single gun as though it's loaded. We never point guns at anyone or even momentarily let anyone come in front of the barrel, and if we show off or share our guns with others, we always break them down.

Jon-Erik Hexum ....

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

First fatal incident that jumped to my mind .... killed by a ‘blank’.

To state the obvious, anything discharging from a gun with force can kill & many folks just don’t realize this.

Way back in 1800, a relative of mine was killed by ‘wadding’ from a pistol that penetrated a lung - it was supposed to be a ‘joke’ - pistols loaded with powder & paper wadding. The shooter seized him by the arm, and bringing the pistol in contact with his body, discharged the contents into his side - part of the wadding penetrated into the lungs, the remainder was driven along the outside of the ribs and lodged by the back bone. He lived 24 hours.

You bet. An accident is getting hit by an asteroid. This was negligence. Did the shooter use the gun in a manner which put others in danger, regardless of it being a prop gun, using blank type loads etc. Faulty load? Or did someone load it with the real deal?

Some years ago the Earp re-enactors in tombstone had an incident where one of the actors accidentally loaded a real bullet in his gun and actually shot and killed the other actor right in front of the audience, I mean how do you accidentally put a real bullet in a gun when you meant to go for the blank? Do blanks really look identical to the real ones in every way?

Up until now I thought the greatest remorse for an on screen accident was that of Kurt Russell when he demolished an 1860s Martin Guitar on the set of the Hateful Eight. Someone forgot to swap the real one for the prop.

I’m not NRA but know that a gun should never be pointed at anyone...

...unless you need to kill them.

It’s not suspect at all if Baldwin was pointing the gun at the camera because that is the scene they wanted to film.

Knowing his persona over the years here on FR he’ll likely twist this to heap crap on the right and gun people.

Stupid libs have no firearms discipline. They never learned the four basic fundamentals of safe firearms handling.

Why was even a prop gun loaded with blanks, which can be deadly pointed at the woman and why was his finger on the trigger?

I’ve shot blanks before at someone on a set, but they were not at close range. Didn’t think a blank could kill someone at close range. That is tragic for this woman...

It is a great pity. The woman’s family is no doubt shattered.
