During my early adulthood, I spent a number of years in LE and security. With that background, when I see widespread screw ups that have a serious national implications, I become very suspicious and wonder if this is deliberate sabotage by a foreign or domestic enemy. If an enemy wanted to attack this nation at this moment, think of the damage they could do. Sorry, that just the way I think.
Your thinking is correct, and undoubtedly those thoughts have gone through the minds of every one of our enemies, including and especially terrorists. Even if it isn’t deliberate, it’s still an opportunity.
