AUSTIN—State Sen. Kel Seliger announced Wednesday that he will not seek re-election.
“After thoughtful consideration and with the reassurance of my family, including my new very vocal granddaughter, I have decided not to be a candidate for re-election to the Texas Senate,” the Amarillo Republican wrote. “From my first campaign in 1989 to today, I have felt overwhelmingly proud to serve the Panhandle, South Plains and the Permian Basin.”
Seliger, who has represented District 31 in the Texas Senate since 2004, wrote in a statement that he is “most known for his unwavering support of local control, public education, higher education, sexual assault awareness and prevention, and battling human trafficking.”

I’m sometimes skeptical of Trump’s endorsements (Kari Lake!), but he is right on here.

Kari Lake might be the best candidate. The most conservative who can win. Buckley rule. Well known on the tube. Easy on the eyes. Those things count. Just remember it’s senators that count more when it comes to conservatism. Governorships are not as important unless a senator dies.
Agree with you about Kari Lake
Amarillo is not as red as one expects, due to the vast number of foreigners imports during previous (and the current) administrations.
All across the plains there are bastions of liberal illogicy, from university professors to their minions, young dumb students.
Stockyards now employ lots of Vietnamese and other nationalities, which is why their Covid rates have remained high.
For some reason they don’t trust the vaccine ...

Amarillo is red, and deserves a much better than Seliger, so good on Trump for getting involved in this case.
Kari Lake may —or may not—be our best option in AZ, but she beautifully undressed a CNN reporter here recently, schooling her eloquently and forcefully about election fraud.

I do not trust Kari Lake . She has supported obama in the past and gets quite defensive about it. She is smooth , she has been in front of the camera for 30 years and knows how it works. I think Trump was taken in.

Many of us were liberalish at one time. She’s seen the light, the error of her ways, trust me.
If you’re in AZ, take another look. If not, we’ll take care of the vetting, but for now, I put her in “bulldog” classification.
Will try to keep an open mind. At the current time she reminds me of the stereotypical “used car salesman”.
