Australia delivered a withering denunciation of China's trade policies Thursday, accusing Beijing of undermining the World Trade Organization and foot-dragging on promised economic reforms.

During a usually routine WTO review in Geneva, Canberra's representatives said China had benefited "significantly" from 20 years of WTO membership but was not keeping its end of the bargain. ...

..."China has increasingly tested global trade rules and norms by engaging in practices that are inconsistent with its WTO commitments," the Australian government said in a statement.

"By undermining agreed trade rules China also undermines the multilateral trading system on which all WTO members rely."...

President Trump recognized that we are in an existential foot race with China for survival. To give America a chance to win, Trump resorted to tariffs to start to even the playing field and give America commerce a chance. To the degree that he was successful, he broke rice bowls.

If we look at any leading member of the Senate including minority leader McConnell whose wife is the daughter of giant Chinese shipping, to Nancy Pelosi whose husband has made millions sleeping with the Chinese, to the cognitively failing San Fran Nan who brought Chinese spies into her home and to intelligence committee member Eric Swalwell who literally slept with the Chinese spy, all of these public officials present conflicts of interest or worse.

More broadly, there is not one institution in America that has not been either seduced, co-opted or outright corrupted by the Chinese. This is true if one regards the landscape from sports to religion and onto academia. Our politicians have sold out long ago.

Joe Biden the national figure plainly compromised by his grifting is in a position to do the nation the most harm and to assure that we are left defenseless before the ever growing and more aggressive Chinese threat.

Because Trump broke those rice bowls the opposition to him grew desperate and, in the end, triumphant. We are left today with tiny Australia to lead the defense of the capitalist world against the predatory, mercantilist Chinese. This is a battle against Goliath that David will not win.

Only America can build the coalition (if it can overcome the humiliation of Afghanistan) that can withstand the Chinese threat. Before the election, many of us were Cassandra like predicting that if Trump lost the election it meant that we would lose all to the Chinese. We have not yet lost but the end is drawing near.
