Russian President Vladimir Putin told his country's employers on Wednesday that they would have to shut down again for a week from the end of October — the most dramatic step by his government in months aimed at stemming the country's surging coronavirus epidemic. During a meeting with senior officials, Putin backed a proposal to mandate "non-working" days from October 30 until November 7.
... The halting uptake of vaccines in Russia has kept hospitalization and death rates high. Russia reported 34,073 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday and set a grim new record with 1,028 fatalities. The United Kingdom, in contrast, where about 66% of the population is fully vaccinated, is still seeing very high daily case numbers — over 40,000 each day for about a week — but the daily death toll from the virus has hovered for weeks around 150.

Too bad for the UK that 70%+ of those 150 deaths were fully vaccinated according to their own health service.
Probably the best anti-dote ever.

Much of Europe and Japan are on the backend of it and fully opening up and the US is also on the same trend.
This “should” be the last spike if we’re following the 1918 epidemic models and that ended after 22 months with NO vaccines.
Russia closing its businesses? What does that consist of, closing the liquor stores?
And from some of the road rage videos I have seen, battle axe stores as well.
Maybe Russia will nuke China for this BS. About someone grows some balls.
That is still a far better outcome than what several of these countries (Russia, Ukraine, Romania, etc.) are experiencing.
If they are firing people like they are here for not allowing poison to be injected into them, could be lack of personnel.

When 100% are vaccinated 100% of deaths will be fully vaccinated.

If one examines the data from unvaccinated persons only, Delta’s CFR has gone up, compared to earlier waves.
Russia and some other countries had a impressive Delta peak, a bit of respite (moderate sway in the curves, but not really low cases), and then a resurgence. In Russia’s case, the resurgence has now surpassed all other waves in both daily cases and daily fatalities. In the UK’s case, the cases resurgence is not quite so strong (at least not so far), but it is still quite impressive. However, more impressive (at least to the unbiased observer), the UK’s fatalities are very low compared to those one would expect from the case numbers, or by comparison to previous waves.
Given the differential involved there, unless something truly extraordinary is going on with the UK’s reporting, this pretty well shreds the anti-vacc’ers arguments of the UK using Covid vaccines ineffective in preventing fatalities.
Uh-huh. You think Russia doesn’t HAVE a vaccine?
If the vaccines worked as well as you think we A - wouldn’t have had a delta spike and B - wouldn’t have had a resurgence of the delta spike as the vaccine formulations haven’t changed.
I’d say it’s fewer deaths this time because just about everyone’s gotten it now and already has natural immunity.
But hey - keep wearing that mask!
