U.S. Republicans say fixing supply chain is more urgent than social spending

A group of 160 Republican lawmakers said addressing supply chain woes that have dramatically slowed the manufacture and shipment of goods around the United States must be fixed before considering new spending on social programs, according to a letter sent to President Joe Biden on Wednesday.

"We urge you to call on your congressional allies to halt discussions on a budget reconciliation bill that aims to reshape the social fabric of this country and instead work on real infrastructure solutions that focus on moving goods and people safely and efficiently," said the letter signed by lawmakers including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Representative Sam Graves, the ranking member on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and others.

The White House did not immediately comment.

California EPA has a law that went into effect that only trucks 3 years and younger that meet new the new CA pollution standards can pick up freight. Most frieght companies trucks average 7 years or more. The only way to fix this is to Federalize the ports and make the union jerks federal workers, and then put up a EPA exemption.

Someone must have supplied free beer and pizza for 160 people.

Certainly no other reason republicans would gather in unity.

Manufactured in the USA don’t have to be unloaded on the West Coast.

Biden won’t shut the Chinese pipeline until Hunter collects his next billion.

This far pre-dates the Alzheimer's Case.

The Chinese pipeline won't be shut down until people stop buying cheap CCP **** in Wally World, Target, Amazon, Harbor Freight, etc.

Biden is missing 50% of his brain.

It is so obvious that fixing the supply chain should be his most urgent program right now.

“The GOP is responsible for all of this”

No, Ronnie. YOU are responsible for all of this. YOU!

-YOU failed to stop Covid Mandates!

-YOU failed to prevent vaccination mandates on the Longshoremans union causing work stoppages.

-YOU failed to prevent vaccine mandates imposed upon truckers causing shipping delays.

-YOU failed to stop the shuttering of US energy production, rising shipping costs across the board!

-YOU failed to prevent CA’s egregious EPA regulation enforcement!

YOU failed, you failed you failed.

It’s ALL YOUR FAULT.

You are the NOTORIOUS FAILURE causing all of these issues.

Have the Republicans offered a bill that would fix the supply chain? Or are they just blowing smoke?

Saw that the container back up is so bad at Long Beach that they are putting containers along the nearby residential streets - one pic showed a container that fell over, crushing a resident’s car and blocking the sidewalk.

Two key elements that are causing this problem are :
1) Union crane operators that do what they want for as long as they want, then go home collecting $250K a year, along with slow moving dock workers and their $170K salary.

2) California environmental regulations which ban all trucks at the port which are over 3 years old.

The Longshoremans Union will not budge on the crane operators because the crane operators seem to run the Union ;

California won’t rescind its regulation lest liberal environmentalists storm Sacramento

Calif also only allows UNION trucks to handle port containers...not owner/operators.

The repubs can’t change anything.

Something else to think about is that the supply chain problems will affect the Military, hospitals, and other critical industries.

More and more all this looks to be intentional to hurt this country. Obama 2.0

It's not a supply chain problem

IT'S A "FREE" TRADE GLOBALISM OFF SHORING PROBLEM.

If the USA was self sufficient then we could close down all of those ports and build nice shore condos on that prime real estate..

Republicans are responsible for off shoring industry to the 3rd world so he is correct. That is the root problem.
