For the most part, when I see someone with a bow tie today, my first impression is a negative one.
I force myself to be open enough to allow my negative impressions to be dispersed if my interaction is a positive one, and I have had a few occasions where it has, in spades.
But the initial impression is: “Pretentious blowhard”.
