Russian President Vladimir Putin thinks cryptocurrencies have value — but he's not convinced they can replace the U.S. dollar in settling oil trades. There is something to love about Putin especially the way he deals with pompous people such as this snotty reporter. There was a story regarding Putin and the Saudi ambassador. Apparently the Saudis were very upset regarding the Russian presence in Syria that was thwarting Saudi designs. The Saudi ambassador mentioned that as long as the Russians remained in Syria, it could not be guaranteed that there would not be terrorism at the 2012 Winter Olympics which the Russians were hosting. Putin responded by thanking the Saudi for the warning, made it known that if there was terrorism he knew who to blame, that he would not invade Iraq, proceeded to station three Russian nuclear ballistic submarines off the coasts of Saudi Arabia, and personally attended the games. Probably just a story told by some bored retired CIA agent.
Putin’s a great guy as long as you’re not one of those he considers “snotty” and “pompous”. I’ll take rule of law over the whims of one man, however competent and efficient, any day.
I always listen to Putins Interviews and when he speaks to large groups. No doubt he’s a man in control of what he thinks and believes. But he also ‘plays’ as states men do....
Even so never take your eye off where he goes and who he sees.
