If not for the European colonialists that settled and established somewhat civilized law abiding entities in the third world, would the indigenous people have been worse or better off?? I’d like to see this hypothetical situation evaluated by leftists and the media that are obsessed with promoting righteousness of indigenous peoples and the “evil” of settlers. Where would the indigenous peoples be had they been walled off from outside influences?

If European colonists didn’t arrive, the population of Hispaniola would have been Arawak, unless the Caribs had annihilated them.

Can’t argue any benefit for the indigenous there. They’re pretty much extinct.

People would generally rather rule themselves badly that be governed well by another people. Not quite give me liberty of give me death, but something of the kind.
