Legal action taken against the British government to secure compensation for four Kenyans allegedly tortured during the Mau Mau uprising will cast the spotlight on one of the Empire's bloodiest conflicts. The uprising is now regarded in Kenya as one of the most significant steps towards a Kenya free from British rule.
The Mau Mau fighters were mainly drawn from Kenya's major ethnic grouping, the Kikuyu. More than a million strong, by the start of the 1950s the Kikuyu had been increasingly economically marginalised as years of white settler expansion ate away at their land holdings.
Since 1945, nationalists like Jomo Kenyatta of the Kenya African Union (KAU) had been pressing the British government in vain for political rights and land reforms, with valuable holdings in the cooler Highlands to be redistributed to African owners. But radical activists within the KAU set up a splinter group and organised a more militant kind of nationalism.

The historian Robert Edgerton describes the methods used during the emergency: "If a question was not answered to the interrogator's satisfaction, the subject was beaten and kicked. If that did not lead to the desired confession, and it rarely did, more force was applied. Electric shock was widely used, and so was fire. Women were choked and held under water; gun barrels, beer bottles, and even knives were thrust into their vaginas. Men had beer bottles thrust up their rectums, were dragged behind Land Rovers, whipped, burned and bayoneted... Some police officers did not bother with more time-consuming forms of torture; they simply shot any suspect who refused to answer, then told the next suspect, to dig his own grave. When the grave was finished, the man was asked if he would now be willing to talk."[222]
And this: Among the detainees who suffered severe mistreatment was Hussein Onyango Obama, the grandfather of Barack Obama, the former President of the United States. According to his widow, British soldiers forced pins into his fingernails and buttocks and squeezed his testicles between metal rods and two others were castrated.[221]
It looks like all Obama is concerned about is revenge.
It would be nice if the media would do their homework and find out what has been motivating Obama to be so destructive (now through his staff which is still in the White House) instead of us common folk having to research it and present it here. I have had about all of this I can take. He and is ilk don’t have a clue as to the outrage we feel now.
There were very good reasons that the founders excluded the children of foreigners with the natural born citizens clause.

Not denying that. Just posting facts. Seems to give foundation for Obama's hatred, that's all. He never should have been elected President if the media folks would have done their research. The media is complicit in our ever-mounting problems.
I really doubt that. Obama’s mom was a lefty. He went to private school and eventually the Ivy League. He picked up the leftwing chatter there, and he he wanted to be Black, so he picked up Black militant chatter. There are thousands of people like that of different colors and ethnicities, who don’t have Mau Mau roots.
Maybe this feeds his animus, but Obama ain’t no Obama … he be a Davis, son of Franklin Marshall Davis.

The Mau Mau uprising was a huge event. The Brits even brought in Avro Lincoln bombers and dropped about 6,000,000 bombs in areas of Kenya that were believed to be controlled by Mau Mau. It was ARC LIGHT before its time. (The 6,000,000 bombs number seems incredible, but I’ve found two sources for it. 6,000,000 tons sounds more likely. In any case, it was a big, sustained bombing campaign.)
