On a related note, I have a bottle on KI in my prep supplies. That potassium iodide, for protection in case of a nuclear event.
It has an expiration date on it. It was at least a decade ago.
Am I the least bit worried? NO!
I know basic chemistry, know that is about as stable a molecule as you can get. Especially when stored in a dark closet in a climate controlled basement.
