My wife and I waited 4 years to adopt a baby. With many adoptions, birth parents (often just the birth mother) picks from “profiles” created by the perspective adoptive parents. In open adoptions as most are today, there is on-going contact between birth parents and the child/adoptive parents.
Some women like the idea of being the “only Mom” in that situation so they pick two men.
I don’t get it but it is the reality of the situation.
