Texas Republican gubernatorial candidate Allen West on Monday revealed that he was released from the hospital after battling pneumonia related to a COVID-19 infection.
West, who is not vaccinated, was admitted to a hospital in Texas on Saturday. At the time he tweeted that he had concerning oxygen saturation levels.
On Monday, West posted a video to his social media accounts explaining that he had returned home and thanking supporters for their well wishes.
"I'm doing very well. I'm now back at the house. And I want to send out big shoutouts to the staff here in the COVID unit of the Medical City Green Oaks Texas," he said.
West said he received monoclonal antibody infusion therapy and treatment with a budesonide nebulizer, which is typically used by asthma patients.
He also took aim at COVID-19 vaccine mandates, saying that other treatments are possible.
"This should not be about forcing people to take a certain shot," he said.
"One of the things that I've learned, there are so many other protocols out there that we should be recommending to people," he added.

This was a stunt (in my book) because it was risky, unnecessary, and it went badly like stunts sometimes do. West publicly went against the near universal advice of the medical profession. He spoke about IVM and HCQ to gain favor with his anti-vax constituents.
Suggesting that COVID isn’t a serious threat to people 60+ is not smart policy based on science.
But if you prefer to call it a personal decision based on his convictions, that’s fine.
This will certainly cost him votes.
Both good. As I understand it Ivermectin is also particularly effective, but at this point our overlords (and the federal funders to most medical operations) have endangered doctors prescribing it for such.
Still of course no governments and few doctors are stressing the very effective prophylactics of C, D, zinc and at least Quercetin, however.
We take a lot of stuff including D3 and zinc everyday.
The way to go!
“My doctor is using monoclonal infusion and an oral steroid for early treatment.”
There are studies indicating that monoclonal antibody treatment can defeat the virus before your immune system learns to create its own antibodies. Something to keep in mind.
It might pay to get the antibody test if you were treated with mABs to see if you’ve developed wild-type antibodies or not.
There are no “statistics” for a disease that doesn’t have a reliable testing mechanism or a reliable way of reporting the disease.

Refraining from comment for a couple of years. Let me know how you are doing at that time.
The term “big pharma” is properly used in reference to pharmaceutical companies.
Here you’re using it to mean something completely different and unknown.
Major players in the monoclonal antibodies (MABS) market are Johnson & Johnson, Merck, AbbVie, Amgen, and GlaxoSmithKline plc. In other words: Big Pharma. What on earth are YOU talking about?
You stated that an anti-vaccine action enriched pharmaceutical companies.
But what enriches them is pro-vaccine actions.
Glad to hear this.
Horse already left that barn. Vax makers have been paid to produce vaccines used by billions of people.
West needlessly funneled $50 - $100k of taxpayer money to the medical system, including big pharma companies, so he could avoid taking a free shot that cost well under $100 to develop. He looks like a moron to the majority of Americans who are in favor of at risk people getting vaccinated. (But not you!) Now West will need months for his lungs to heal.
Big Pharma says thank you very much Colonel! Only if West’s plan had worked— IVM and home treatment. But of course it didn’t, shocking dozens of tinfoil hats.
THE NUREMBERG CODE
The voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential This means that the person involved should have legal capacity to give consent; should be so situated as to be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, over-reaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion; and should have sufficient knowledge and comprehension of the elements of the subject matter involved, as to enable him to make an understanding and enlightened decision.
How can you have evidence of any benefit without a control group? Which is impossible on an individual case by case basis. Which is why it’s a matter of faith. Respectfully.
Funny how vaccines bring increased revenue for pharmaceutical companies while ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine cause the opposite effect.
Where does it say he was in the hospital a week??????????????????????????????
There should have been more studies. But I bet you can’t find one that says IVM and/or HCQ work better than the vaccines and boosters. Nothing works as well— even though they are not perfect.
That’s like saying I bet you can’t find evidence of government incompetence.
