if its just the lack of drivers, we can blame a lot on taxes, regulation, etc....
but also we can blame the constant mantra that everybody who is anybody goes to college and leaves those trucking, plumbing, electrical,farming,forestry, etc jobs to the lower class....

I got rid of TV in my house in 1997. One result that honestly surprised me was it destroyed my “consumerism”, thanks to no longer seeing television ads or product placement in shows.
It’s served me well to this day. We even stopped exchanging Christmas gifts over ten years ago, choosing instead to focus on why Christmas exists in the first place.
That said, I did order front brake disks and rotors for two of my cars that need them (or will soon) so I don’t have to worry about them being parked, waiting for parts. Replacement parts is our one vulnerability.
