GOP megadonor pours $1M into primary against Arkansas Senator Boozman

One of the Republican Party’s biggest donors is working to defeat Arkansas Sen. John Boozman in next year’s GOP primary.

Dick Uihlein, a prominent conservative megadonor, is giving $1 million to a newly formed super PAC aligned with Republican Jake Bequette, according to a person familiar with the contribution. Bequette is an Iraq war veteran and retired NFL player who is challenging Boozman.

Uihlein, an Illinois shipping and supply company executive, has a long history of giving to anti-establishment causes. Earlier this year, he cut a $2.5 million check to a super PAC bolstering Missouri Senate hopeful Eric Greitens, a former governor who stepped down from office after he was accused of sexually assaulting his hairdresser. Senior Republicans have expressed concern that should Greitens win the primary, he would jeopardize the party’s prospects of retaining the seat in 2022. In recent years, Uihlein has also backed GOP primary challengers running against the then-governor of Illinois and another Republican senator.

Now this is interesting.

Boozman has not been all that great a senator and Trump and I believe Trump endorsed him too early (similar to Crapo, who voted for the infrastructure bill).

I'm any case, a primary is good. Boozman will be voting straight conservative until he's renominated and reelected. Then he can go back to helping out McConnell.

Boozman is a RINO and does not fully support the Second Amendment. He gave very Luke warm support to President Trump during the 2020 election steal. I have written him several times and never received a reply. He needs to be defeated in the primary. This is good news for us Arkansans.

Boozman is one of the Bush League Republicans that needs to be replaced.

Trump has to stop endorsing them.

He is making if harder for us to get rid of the Assistant Democrats.

The real conservative in the Arkansas Primary Election race for US Senate is Jan Morgan. She has been fighting for conservative issues for years. Mr. Bequette is probably better than most of the RINOs in office, including Boozman, but he hasn't done anything politically that I can tell.
