The more leftist/communistic China gets, the worst it’ll fail. It did alright trying to be semi-capitalist with goods. But in the long run it’ll be another USSR if they keep the command economy up.

There was a time when I would agree with you. Not anymore. We have kicked this can down the road (U.S debt) about 30 years longer than I would have thought possible.
That just means past generations built up an amazing amount of reserve. Economic laws can only be toyed with for so long. It will be very bad in the long run.

China is faltering, not collapsing. Evergrande will probably not be a large problem as far as foreign contagion because its debt is not widely held around the world. China already has a workaround which will break the Evergrande debt into small chunks which will be spread amongst the provinces.
China props up Biden’s economy; if China fails, the U.S. fails.
I have heard there is a lot of political maneuvering in the background which, in China, means somebody’s going to get clipped. Maybe the PLA will take over. A military junta couldn’t be any worse than the civil government. Might even be an improvement.

The US military from at least O-7 on up is not a meritocracy, either. Maybe lower. It’s all about woke political correctness.
