“Maine, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Idaho, North Dakota, Wyoming, and Oregon each have zero or close to zero American bumble bees left, it asserts.”
What a load of crap. I live in North Dakota and there’s plenty of bumble bees in my garden and deck planters.

I have seen them plenty just this summer. In fact, I think I have seen bumblebees on flowers more often than honey bees.
Also, I have learned that carpenter bees love wood painted white. But something I never knew as a kid, the cute fuzzy bumblebees are not the ones making the holes in wood. I always thought they were.
I live here in Northern California (just below Oregon), this last year I had more Bumble Bees on my farm than regular honey bees.
Guess nobody told my Bumble Bees they are supposed to be going extinct, they act like they own the place.
