I had Covid in Jan 20202. I was admitted to the hospital on Jan 26th. I have 5 co-morbidities and was in and out of consciousness for the first three days. What i don’t get is the high death rate now compared to what I went thru. They had me on seven IV med drips for 5 days to clear it. I was out of it the first 3 days and had trouble breathing but I never sensed that I was in danger of dying. I didn’t go on a ventilator but did have O2 issues (like couldn’t catch my breath) and snatched an O2 nose hose off the wall and used it. It didn’t help much, just made it to where I could relax a little and fall back asleep.

In hindsight I think the greatest benefit was having it early on, before there were treatment protocols. They threw everything at it and even gave me a quad bypass to improve healing damaged organs. They called it the Wuhan virus but did not have the test. They tested it for other coronaviruses but they were negative.

All in all I consider myself very lucky to have gotten it early when I did.

Depends on what you mean death rate. For every 100 people who get covid, we see 98.4 percent survival.(1.6 persons will die out of every hundred) That number hasn’t changed much from the earliest alpha variants Yet millions may never get covid, vaxxed or unvaxxed. Millions may have had covid and got over it. Millions may have had it and may not have known it. The over all death rate for the whole nation is some small number, .03 percent i think. Yet if you do get it, it will test for every chink in your immune armor and it can really run you thru the ringer. I cited the 98. 4 percent survival figure but another 3-4 percent will have long lasting after illness disabilities, decreased liver, lung and kidney functions. Some have had heart attacks and strokes. Your life may never be the same. I shan’t be surprised if some of the talk doesn’t turn toward the notion of 5 year survival rates after covid...the same way we speak of 5 year survival rates with treated cancers!
You said you had a quad bypass? Wow! I’m glad you survived Covid. You are a winner in my book!
