In time to get Snowbird money. Canadians can come across now in their cars. If they’d known that a few months ago they could’ve procured a lease on the beach for six months but now they will have a hard time finding a long-term rental.
There is a lot of cross border retail business in many places.
In between Fort Erie/Niagara Falls, ONT and Buffalo/Niagara Falls, NY many people from Canada come across the border to buy gasoline, cigarettes, clothes and even food.
In Buffalo a lot of men go across to Canada to see exotic dancers in establishments in Fort Erie or Niagara Falls, ONT

In northern VT Jay Peak ski area is only about a 1 1/2 hour ride from Montreal. About 50% of Jay’s customers come from Canada. They had a really poor revenue year last ski season because no one could cross the border.
I am sure there hundreds of examples of things like this.
